Hi, my name is Michelle. I live in New Castle, Pennsylvania, so it is nice to have a campus that I can commute to. My immediate family includes my son Aidan, my mom Debbie, my dad John, and my fiancé Josh. I love the Shenango campus because the people here understand that many of us have to balance family, school and work. The staff and faculty get to know the students by their first name. Meeting my fiancé, Josh, who will become my husband after I graduate in spring 2011, was a plus! “I chose Shenango because it is a local university with a great reputation and is internationally recognized.” |

Hello, my name is Jacqueline. I chose Penn State Shenango because my son started here and loved it so much that he conviced me to continue my education and enroll as well. He was right; I could not be happier. The faculty and staff have been very supportive. As a single mother of three grown sons, I had to work full-time to support my family as a customer service representative. However, I knew that without an education, I could never obtain my career goals. I currently work part-time as a hostess, which leaves me plenty of time for my studies. "Penn State Shenango is right for me. I know I will reach my goals once I earn my degree." |

Hi, my name is Adam, and I am from Sharon, Pennsylvania. I began my college education at a another university but decided it was not for me. Because Penn State Shenango offers a bachelor's degree in business, I transferred here to complete my education. Although I didn't know a lot about the campus, I was pleasantly surprised to find out what a terrific place it turned out to be. In addition to my studies, I enjoy working part-time at REX Corporation in Hermitage. When I'm not working or studying, I love playing intramural sports on campus. "Penn State Shenango provides me with a great education close to home." |

Hi, I'm Dr. Phil Nash. I was raised in California. After studying in Los Angeles, Germany, and Boston, I received my Ph.D. at Ohio University and held a fellowship at Harvard. I presently live in Pittsburgh with my wife, Soo, who is from Singapore and also a history professor. I have published a book and several articles. My current work looks at early woman ambassadors. But I take the greatest pride in my teaching, for which I received the 2003 Riforgiato Teaching Award. I enjoy classical music and pro football. "I love the challenge of making history interesting for students of different backgrounds." |

Hi everyone! My name is Claudia, and I love Western Pennslyvania and Eastern Ohio because of all the challenges we face here. I teach human development and family studies after having worked in social services for 13 years. I believe we have the potential to make a difference--what affects one person affects us all. The better we make each others' lives, the better we make our own. In addition to teaching, I am the advisor of the campus' HDFS Club. Our students are so caring and giving; they continually surprise me with their generosity of time and talent in helping those less fortunate in our community. "I am proud to be a Penn State Shenango faculty member. " |
