Pedestrian Mall Commons

In 1996, Penn State Shenango celebrated the completion of its $2 million project, which began in the early 1990s. The closing of Reno Street and the renovation of that area into a pedestrian mall, included beautiful trees, shrubbery, lighted lampposts and crisscrossing sidewalks, that linked the campus’ Lartz Memorial Library, McDowell Hall, and Chadderton Laboratory. The landscaping of the pedestrian mall project, which was undertaken by the Penn State Shenango Alumni Society, was designed gratuitously by Penn State architect students, Shannon Kavanaugh and Lisa Eppley.
