Penn State Shenango will offer a continuing education workshop for health professionals titled “Dealing with Behaviors and Modifications for the Dementia Patient” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 25 at the Shenango campus located in downtown Sharon, Pa. The fee for the five-hour course is $50.

The course is designed for occupational therapists and occupational therapist assistants, physical therapists and physical therapist assistants, and licensed practical nurses and registered nurses. At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to define dementia and express insight into observable behaviors; discuss interventions and modifications used to address typical behaviors; and discuss ways to provide education to family and other staff members.
