Admission criteria
  • Incoming 1st-year students: SAT score above 1100 (1650 under the new SAT) and/or high-school GPA of 3.2 or better.
  • Students in progress: GPA of 3.5 or better for full-time students (after accumulating at least 12 credits in academic courses).
Program Requirements

Campus Honors Certificate
(1) Submission of an Annual Academic Plan approved by the Honors Adviser.
(2) Completion of at least 36 credits at the lower division level, including a minimum of 9 credits of honors course work or four honors courses. Students are required to take at least two honors courses or honors options every academic year.
(3) A grade point average of at least 3.0 in honors course work.
(4) Cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 is required; if the GPA falls below 3.5, they may request one probationary semester to raise it again.
(5) Maintain regular attendance at Honors Program meetings.
(6) Participation in appropriate co-curricular honors experience(s), such as community service, volunteer work, cultural experience, educational support (i.e. tutoring), and leadership experience.

College Honors Certificate
(1). Submission of an Annual Academic Plan approved by the Honors Adviser.
(2) Completion of at least nine credits of honors course work or four courses at the upper division level, including at least six credits at the 400-level.
Students are required to take at least two honors courses or honors options every academic year.
(3) A grade point average of at least 3.0 in upper division honors course work.
(4) Cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 is required; if the GPA falls below 3.5, they may request one probationary semester to raise it again.
(5) Maintain regular attendance at Honors Program meetings.
(6) Mandatory participation in at least one co-curricular honors experience(s), such as community service, volunteer work, cultural experience, educational support (i.e. tutoring), and leadership experience per academic year.
(7) Completion of an appropriate Capstone Project relevant to the major field of study.
